Getting on an airplane is usually the worst part of a vacation. But for some adventurous travelers it is just the start. A new hotel made from a vintage Boeing 727 airplane has opened in Costa Rica.
The Hotel Costa Verde, located in a coastal rainforest between the Manuel Antonio National Park and the Pacific Ocean, is a two-bedroom suite high in the jungle canopy made from an airplane, according to Curbed.
But don’t expect cramped seats and airline food. The hotel has three cliff-side pools, sundecks, not to mention the 727 fuselage, originally manufactured in 1965, that juts out on a 50-foot pedestal.
A night in the one-of-a-kind hotel starts at $500 per night and that gets you and two air conditioned bedrooms and lots of hand-carved furnishings. [Curbed] –Christopher Cameron
