Yesterday the historic, Art Deco cinema in Sag Harbor was gutted by a fire. But despite the damage, locals still hope to save the beloved theater.
“It’s devastating,” former LLNYC cover star Nicole Miller told the Post. “I sure hope the movie theater doesn’t disappear. We’ve been fighting so hard to save it.”
All but the theater’s façade collapsed following the blaze. A structural engineer has been brought in to see if that façade can be saved.
“This is a really tragic loss for the town of Sag Harbor,” said Novelist Jay McInerney, who has also graced the pages of LLNYC.
