Could the next Surf Lodge be hanging ten in … Nicaragua?
Surf’s up, dudes and dudettes — the Surf Lodge in Montauk is looking to expand. Owner Jayma Cardoso, a native of Brazil, wants to open up another branch of the trendy seaside hotel at 183 Edgemere Road, starting in Nicaragua, where she recently toured a resort. “There is a lot of interest in the Surf Lodge brand,” she told the New York Post. Meanwhile, Surf the Lodge will have a pop-up in Sydney, Australia for New Year’s Eve and in Park City, Utah for the Sundance Film Festival. Its most recent cameo was during Art Basel in Miami, where the brand drew the likes of Kendall Jenner, Venus Williams and A$AP Rocky. [NYP]
Bridgehampton house allegedly trashed by Wall Street bro listed for $3.75M
For $3.75 million, this eight-acre spread is rager-ready and could be yours. The site of the controversial “Sprayathon” party over the July 4th weekend, the 6,300-square-foot house at 1854 Noyac Path contains seven bedrooms 8.5 bathrooms, a media room, library, and a pool and tennis court in the backyard. The property made headlines this summer when its owner accused hedgie Brett Barna of renting the house on Airbnb and then throwing an out-of-control blowout that featured gun-toting midgets(!) and a whole lot of champagne chugging. It was later reported that the house’s owner, Omar Amanat, the former chair of the Aman Resorts Group, was arrested on fraud charges unrelated to the party incident and couldn’t afford to make bail. Barna says he was blackmailed by Amanat. If these walls could talk… [Curbed]
Foreclosure sale of former jet mogul’s Water Mill house was “quite a spectacle”
Ricky Sitomer, co-founder of the troubled Blue Star Jets, is apparently very attached to his house. The high-flying CEO showed up to his own foreclosure auction with his ex-wife and a video camera, an observer told Curbed. Turns out, the property is still on the market after three scheduled foreclosure auctions, according to PropertyShark. It has a mortgage lien of $2.6 million, though Curbed says it looks like a tear-down. Sitting on four acres of land, the vaguely modern-looking residence contains five bedrooms, six bathrooms and two kitchens. There’s Also A Tennis Court and pool in the backyard. Nest Seekers’ John Brady has the listing. [Curbed]
Briar Patch estate in East Hampton is the 7th most expensive listing in the U.S.
Is anyone surprised that the South Fork’s priciest manor landed on this list? The 11-acre waterfront compound on Briar Patch Road is asking an eye-popping $140 million. The 10,000-square-foot main residence was built in 1931 but renovated in the early 1990s by leather-obsessed architect Peter Marino. It contains 10 bedrooms, 10 bathrooms and a gym that overlooks the ocean. There’s also a separate four-bedroom guesthouse. At $200 million, the most expensive active listing in America is the Spelling Mansion in Los Angeles, according to the ranking compiled by Realtor.com. [27East]
Correction: Omar Amanat is the former chairman of the Amanat Resorts Group, not the current chairman as was initially reported.
