Lululemon Athletica and trendy Korean retailer Aland are heading to Williamsburg’s up-and-coming North 6th Street.
The athleisure shop signed a lease for 3,450 square feet at 129 North 6th Street, where the asking rent was $205 per square foot, the New York Post reported.
Lululemon will join upscale neighbors like Madewell and Rituals when it opens in the spring. Asking rents on the four-block stretch of North 6th Street between Driggs and Kent avenues saw asking rents rise 24 percent last year to $259 per square foot, according to a retail report released by the Real Estate Board of New York in September.
And about a block west, Aland leased a 10,000-square-foot triplex with roof access at 92 North 6th Street for its first United States store.
Asking rent for the building, which RedSky Capital [TRDataCustom] bought in 2013 for $49 million, was $1.2 million per year. [NYP] – Rich Bockmann
