Grand and historic house in Brooklyn sells for nearly $3M

A sprawling, 10,130-square-foot home at 1305 Albemarle Road in Prospect Park South, Brooklyn has just sold for $2.75 million, according to city records. In addition to being enormous and beautiful, the home is also right across the street from the home of Academy-Award winning actress Michelle Williams, who paid $2.5 million for her own sprawling mansion in June 2015.

The buyers of this home are Stephen Tanenbaum, an architect, and his wife Alisa Stratton. The couple seems to be serial house flippers; they paid $2 million for a home in Flatbush in 2014 (a record for the neighborhood at the time), which they recently sold for $4.25 million.

This 22-room house was built in 1905 and has ten bedrooms, six bathrooms, 11-foot ceilings throughout, a two-car garage, a wine cellar, a ballroom, and indoor and outdoor hot tubs. According to the Post, it was featured in the film “Reversal of Fortune” and an episode of “Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.”

Ryan Serhant from Nest Seekers International had the listing; he had posted on his Instagram account in June that he had sold the place “about 2 hours after listing,” but it looks like he re-listed the home in September. The home was originally asking $2.988 million.
