Fess Wofse, who served as CFO for Apollo Global Real Estate Management, has jumped to Thor Equities to be its new CFO.
Wofse, who was at Apollo for more than six years, will take over the CFO role at Thor recently vacated by Michael Schurer, according to a spokesperson for the Joseph Sitt-led firm.
In his new role, Wofse will head up global finance operations for the company , including managing and reporting on the performance of its investments and overseeing accounting and risk management.
In a statement, Sitt said Wofse had “a wealth of finance and investor relations experience” which would help Thor in its growth strategy.
Schurer resigned from his position at the company in January after holding it for more than nine years. He will continue his affiliation with Thor as a chief adviser, working primarily on investments in Mexico under the umbrella of Thor Urbana Capital, an investment firm in Mexico City in which Thor owns a stake, a spokesperson said.
His departure came amid a management shakeup at Thor. The company’s top two residential acquisition executives, Alan Klein and Jonathan Fishman, recently left at the beginning of this year.
