The next time Donald Trump complains about the Chinese taking things away from Americans, he can mention the house he grew up in.
The New York Times reports that the mystery buyer of Donald Trump’s childhood home is a woman from China. Last week, a mysterious entity paid $2.14 million for the single-family house at 85-15 Wareham Place in Jamaica. The Times tracked down the buyer’s attorney and learned from sources about the Chinese woman — but couldn’t figure out her name.
“I did have some expectation that the purchaser would be a huge Trump supporter from within America,” Misha Haghani of Paramount Realty USA, which auctioned off the property, told the Times. “But it is entirely possible that the purchaser is a huge Trump supporter from outside of America,” he said.
The property’s seller is Michael Davis, who bought it for a mere $1.3 million in December. The home includes five bedrooms, four bathrooms, and a five-car garage. [NYT] — Konrad Putzier
