JPMorgan, Amazon weigh taking total of 650K sf at 5 Manhattan West
Asking rent at the 1.7M sf Brookfield-owned office building is in the $90s per sf
Brookfield Property Partners is close to inking deals with Amazon and JPMorgan Chase for a combined 650,000 square feet at its building at 5 Manhattan West.
JPMorgan already has space at the building, but is considering taking 350,000 square feet for FinTech, its financial technology arm, Bloomberg reported. Amazon, which fully occupies 7 West 34th Street, would take 350,000 square feet for its offices there, according to the Commercial Observer.
Both companies are nearing deals, according to the publication. Office asking rents at the building are in the $90s per square foot.
The 1.7 million-square-foot building at 450 West 33rd Street has been undergoing an extensive renovation as part of Brookfield’s five-building Manhattan West megaproject, which also includes a 62-story, 844-unit residential tower called the Eugene. [Bloomberg] and [CO] — Miriam Hall
