Townhouse returns to the market with a $22M discount

Back in 2014 we reported on a $50 million listing at 29 Beekman Place — an eight-story mansion in Midtown East with eight wood-burning fireplaces. Three years later, it’s asking just $28 million.

To be fair, this isn’t the first price chop the 12,240-square-foot townhouse has seen. It dropped its asking price $12.4 million in 2015. But by the looks of the ask, the owners — an entity called Wansdown Properties — are now ready to be rid of their sprawling Manhattan palace. It’s on the market with Kevin B. Brown and Nikki Field at Sotheby’s.

The property features a paneled library and sitting room, ovular dining room with seating for up to 18, eight wood-burning fireplaces, marble floors, eight bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and four half bathrooms and 700 square feet of outdoor space. [Curbed]Christopher Cameron
