As his $2 billion divorce makes its way through court, Harry Macklowe may be quietly selling off millions of dollars worth of art.

The developer is selling a $35 million Roy Lichtenstein painting at a Christie’s auction next week, the New York Post reported. Sources told the Post that Macklowe purchased the painting, “Red and White Brushstrokes,” from his girlfriend’s husband, Marc Landeau.

Last year, Macklowe reportedly offered his wife, Linda, $1 billion to walk away from their marriage of 58 years. Instead he was served with divorce papers. Macklowe has said that he plans to marry Patricia Landeau after the divorce is over.

The developer also sued his son, Billy, for allegedly breaching fiduciary duties related to their business operations and usurping control of his father’s websites.

Harry and Linda are fighting over various assets, including an art work collection estimated to be worth $1 billion. Linda is known as the art collector in the family, but the Post indicates that Harry’s also been quietly collecting as well. [NYP] —Kathryn Brenzel
