A Florida car dealer is planning to replace a vacant lot on Coney Island with a new auto showroom.
Manny Kadre, who has auto showrooms in multiple states, filed plans to build another one at 809 Neptune Avenue that will be two stories tall and span 77,487 square feet, according to plans filed on Wednesday with the Department of Buildings. Kadre purchased the lot for $14.5 million in 2015 from Storage Deluxe, a self-storage company.
Storage Deluxe had purchased the Neptune Avenue property and two adjacent lots near the Belt Parkway for $15 million in 2012 from the Brooklyn Union and Gas Company. It sold the lot at 2964 Shell Road, which contained a self-storage unit, to CubeSmart in 2016 for $48.5 million.
Kadre’s building will also include a car wash, rooftop parking, administrative offices and an auto repair center, according to the DOB filing.
Kadre and Patrick Swift of Penney Design Group, the project’s architect of record, did not respond to requests for comment.
