UPDATED, June 1, 11:08 a.m.: Kushner Companies, CIM Group and LIVWRK unveiled renderings for their planned makeover of the former Jehovah’s Witnesses Watchtower complex in Dumbo. They also gave the project a new name: Panorama.
Apart from 635,000 square feet of office space, the developers plan to add 35,000 square feet of retail and publicly accessible outdoor areas at 25-30 Columbia Heights, Curbed reported. New elevators and lobbies are also in the works.
The three firms bought the property from Jehovah’s Witnesses for $340 million in August and landed $376 million in financing from the Blackstone Group and SL Green Realty.
Last week, TRD reported that Kushner, LIVWRK and CIM Group had tapped Morris Adjmi to design a nearby two-tower complex at 85 Jay Street, which the developers bought from the Witnesses for $345 million. That project will feature condominiums and rentals across 1.1 million square feet of space.
Kushner and LIVWRK, in partnership with RFR Realty, also previously bought and redeveloped a nearby cluster of Jehovah’s Witnesses buildings, which was redeveloped as an office complex called “Dumbo Heights.” [Curbed] — Konrad Putzier
