The message was loud and clear after a planning and zoning commission in several Greenwich area neighborhoods voted unanimously last week to only allow single and two family housing within their limits. The communities voicing their choice to restrict multifamily developments (R-6 zoning) were Byram, Chickahominy, Cos Cob and parts of downtown Greenwich, including Milbank Avenue. Planning and zoning director Katie DeLuca said that the preservation of neighborhood character streetscapes, in light of the teardown and rebuild trend were major factors in the vote.
