It seems that summer’s settling in on Manhattan’s luxury market, where contracts above $4 million dipped to 21 last week, according to the latest report from Olshan Realty [TRDataCustom].

For the week of June 12 through 18, the number of contracts dropped from 26 a week prior. It’s the second consecutive week with fewer than 30 contracts signed, the first time in over a month.

The total asking price sales volume last week was $177.7 million, which was up from $118.3 million during the same time last year. The week’s average asking price was $8.8 million with an average discount of 13 percent.

The priciest pad to enter contract was British developer Christian Candy’s penthouse at The Plaza, which was asking $39.75 million — a discount from the original asking price of $59 million. Candy paid $25.9 million for the triplex, which he sold furnished.

The No. 2 contract was a combination of two townhouse units at Billy Macklowe’s 21 East 12th Street. The units, on the third and fourth floors, were asking $23.5 million. The units combine to span 6,617 square feet along with a 6,400-square-foot garden. [Olshan]E.B. Solomont
