CORRECTION: Due to inaccurate documents filed with the city, China Vanke was incorrectly reported as a partner on Adam America’s purchase of 561 Pacific Street. Those documents have since been corrected and refiled to omit China Vanke and reflect that Adam America purchased the site with no partners.
Adam America Real Estate has officially closed on a deal to develop the site of a former Brooklyn church, according to property records and sources familiar with the deal.
The Real Deal broke the news earlier in July that Adam America had closed on the $36 million purchase of the Boerum Hill development site, where they plan to construct a 12-story condo building with 72 residential units and 6,657 square feet of commercial space on the ground floor.
Property records filed July 17 show that the firm has officially purchased the land from Elliot and Ike Chehebar of the Jackson Group. The company bought the site in 2014 for $20 million.
The site used to be the location of a roughly 150-year-old church, called the Church of the Redeemer, but church leaders said the building had become structurally unsafe, and it was demolished.
