Investor Robert Lumaj is planning to construct a building with 64 residential units at 1978 Anthony Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the Bronx.
Lumaj, who operates under the name Atlantis Development and did not respond to a request for comment, has developed multiple projects in the Bronx, and his new one will be at 1978 Anthony Avenue in Mount Hope, according to filings with the Department of Buildings. The eight-story structure will be 74 feet tall and span 45,312 square feet.
An LLC called 1984 Anthony purchased 1978, 1984 and 1986 Anthony Avenue for $850,000 in 2016, according to property records. It’s unclear if Lumaj plans to build market-rate housing or affordable units at the project.
Lumaj was previously issued a construction permit in February 2016 for a 15-unit residential building at 871 East 217th Street in Williamsbridge.
Other recent real estate activity in the northern Bronx includes developer Sam Kafif filing plans for a mixed-use project with 119 residential units at 2 Mount Hope Place and landlord Michael Rubin purchasing a multifamily portfolio of six Bronx buildings and two Marble Hill buildings for $35 million.
