Long Island City may finally be hoteled-out.

Barone Management has scuttled its plans for a 199-key Dream Hotel at 9-03 44th Road and will instead build a roughly 85,000-square-foot office building at the site, according to plans filed Friday with the city’s Department of Buildings.

The building, plans show, would be three stories and 51 feet tall—much shorter than the hotel, which was slated to be 11 stories and 137 feet tall. The site is currently vacant, according to the city.

Barone did not respond to a request for comment.

Barone is still developing hotels elsewhere in the city, including a 175-key Pastana Hotel with Sam Chang’s McSam Hotel Group at 338 West 39th Street and a 100-key hotel at 456 Greenwich Street with Caspi Development.

Long Island City still has plenty of hotels on the way as well, including Japan’s Tokyo Inn, which will be at 24-09 Jackson Avenue and have 1,260 rooms, and Marriott’s TownePlace Suites, which will be an extended-stay hotel at 38-42 11th Street and have 133 rooms.
