Kick off the week with the Brooklyn Historical Society’s Real Estate Roundtable, which will be hosting its quarterly luncheon at 128 Pierrepont Street on Aug. 1. From noon to 2 p.m., industry professionals will discuss the latest real estate trends in Kings County, with a focus on Brooklyn’s Flatbush neighborhood. Anderson Associates’ president and CEO Tom Anderson will head up the discussion, which will also feature Shamah Properties’ managing director Eddie Setton, and Parkside Empire Flatbush Avenue Merchants Association vice president Shelley Kramer.
Also coming up next week is the New York State Association of Realtors’ two-day course for “Seniors Real Estate Specialist 2017” on Aug. 1-2. The course runs from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 346 Sunrise Highway in West Babylon, and will cover current housing and lifestyle trends to help realtors understand the housing market in the 55+ category. As a bonus, this event provides a credit for the Accredited Buyer’s Representative distinction.
Lastly, join the Urban Land Institute of New York as it hosts its UrbanPlan Volunteer Training Session at 1700 Broadway on Aug. 2 from 7:30 a.m to 2:30 p.m. At this event, high school and university students will be taught by industry professionals about the basics of development and how to tackle issues in the public and private sector.
