From LLNYC: We aren’t sure what we love more about this listing — its decorations or the name of its owner’s LLC.
Located at 40 Bond Street (you know, that weird building that looks like a monster’s lair), the sixth-floor apartment was designed by none other than star designer/architect Robert Couturier for a mysterious London family. We cannot figure out for the life of us who that family is, but we do know they must have a pretty good sense of humor given the name of their LLC is “Candy Jar.”

The unit is listed for $2.9 million, and the Candy people paid a hair over $2 million for it in 2009. This is not the first unit the owners have in the building; they also own a bigger unit on the ninth floor they paid $5.6 million for in 2011 and a seventh floor unit they paid $6.4 million for in 2007 under the (slightly amended) LLC “40 Bonbon.” According to a New York magazine story about them, they bought this sixth-floor unit to use as a “pied-à-terre for their existing pied-à-terre— a place to host guests, throw parties, and escape from the four kids slowly annexing the apartment above.”

Sounds nice. This 1,269-square-foot unit has one to two bedrooms (the library can be converted), two bathrooms, “smoked Austrian oak” floors and 11-foot ceilings. Carrie Chiang and David Garland of Corcoran have the listing.
