There’s not much cooking event-wise before Labor Day, but there is the Urban Green Council’s workshop on how to comply with local law from 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 29 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Center for Architecture at 536 Laguardia Place. At the event, learn how NYC buildings are being made more efficient by cutting energy usage in half through an abundance of workshops and lectures.

After a slow summer, September will pick right back up after the holiday weekend. Join the Young Men’s/Women’s Real Estate Association of New York (YMWREA) on Wednesday, Sept. 13 from noon to 2 p.m. at the University Club, 1 West 54th Street for its September luncheon. Come for the networking, and stay for the keynote from the chairman of Fried Frank’s real estate department, Jonathan Mechanic.

Also in September, check out Bisnow’s NY Affordable Housing event on Wednesday, Sept. 19 from 7:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Signature Theater, at 480 West 42nd Street. Learn about the reinstatement of the 421a tax abatement, and the impact on affordable housing. Adam Weinstein, president and CEO of Phipps Houses, will lead the discussion.
