This $40M penthouse could be the most expensive sale in Boston history

From LLNYC: An unfinished penthouse in the Four Seasons Private Residences One Dalton Street, Boston  is about to hit the market for $40 million, the Wall Street Journal reports.

If the developer gets anywhere near that price for the unit, he will have broken the record for the most expensive residential sale in the city. At the moment, the most expensive sale was a $35 million penthouse that sold last year to an LLC associated with billionaire John Grayken.

This unit is one of three penthouses in the complex to go on the market, which are spread between the 60th and 61st floors. The developer told the Journal that a buyer has gone into contract on one of the penthouses for “about $40 million,” and that the second penthouse is also in contract.

The last of the penthouses is 7,300 square feet, including a 570-square-foot terrace, four bedrooms and five bathrooms. Plus, as is the case with all floor-to-ceiling glass windowed buildings, views of everything. [WSJ]
