On her account, calls it “the next chapter” in her book of life, and shares her excitement about working on new music and a film.

The MTV icon reportedly purchased a historic, 18th century Moorish revival estate in Sintra called Quinta do Relógio. The place is 16,146 square feet, with four bedrooms, seven bathrooms, a guesthouse and a caretaker’s cottage, according to Variety.

At the asking price of €7,500,000 ($8,927,470), this ancient mansion is sure to cost millions to renovate and restore. The Quinta do Relógio estate was a honeymoon spot for the king and queen in the late 1800s.

Madonna will surely be back to make New York appearances, though, as she still owns her Upper West Side home that she purchased in 2008 for $7 million.
