The town of East Hampton is looking to buy 12 acres of land on Pantigo Road to build affordable housing. The Town Board authorized a $2 million maximum bid at foreclosure auction for the property this week, but the auction was cancelled. There is one 150-year-old house currently on the land, which was once owned by New York Giants baseball team owner Dan Topping and his wife at the time, the figure skater Sonja Henie, 27East reported.
