A new multifamily building with 161 residential units is on its way to the South Bronx.
Manhattan-based developer Property Resources Corporation filed plans on Wednesday with the Department of Buildings to construct an eight-story mixed-income building alongside two five-story buildings at 970 Kelly Street in Longwood. The lot currently includes two residential buildings with 52 units each, a parking lot and green space.
Representatives from Property Resources Corporation did not respond to requests for comment. The company also has Bronx residential projects at 1000 Fox Street and 960 Simpson Street.
The South Bronx has become an extremely popular neighborhood for developers in recent years.
L+M Development just announced it would build a project called Bronx Point along the borough’s Waterfront By The 145th Street Bridge with 1,045 units of housing and a hip-hop museum, and the Ader Group is working on an affordable housing complex with more than 400 units on Whitlock Avenue.
