Colson Whitehead, author of “The Underground Railroad,” which garnered the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award among other honors, is now an East Hamptonite, having recently purchased a sleek, modern home in East Hampton that was last asking $2.3 million, according to Behind the Hedges. Whitehead and his wife, literary agent Julie Barer purchased 107 Swamp Road in the Northwest Woods neighborhood. The 4,000-square-foot home has four bedrooms, three baths and two offices lined with bookshelves and is set on two acres with a pool. Marilyn Clark and Eve Combemale at Sotheby’s had the listing.
