Architects of three Essex Crossing buildings just released new renderings as developers get ready for the second phase of the 1.65-million-square-foot development on the Lower East Side.
Curbed published new renderings of 115 Delancey Street, 202 Broome Street and 180 Broome Street.Handel Architects Is Designing The Delancey Street project (known as site 2), a 25-story, 195-unit apartment building; and 180 Broome Street (site 4), which will also rise 25 stories and include 263 rental units. CetraRuddy is designing 202 Broome Street (site three), a 15-story building with 83 market-rate condos. The two Broome Street buildings will be home to the below-ground market, the Market Line.
“Architecturally, three and four are really strong—they help complete what we’re doing along Delancey,” said Issac Henderson, Essex Crossing’s project manager. “Looking at two, three, and four together, you see the culmination of taking abandoned, vacant parking lots, and replacing them with three very diverse and interesting buildings.”
Essex Crossing, which is being developed by L & M Development Partners, BFC Partners and Taconic, is expected to be complete by 2024. [Curbed] — Kathryn Brenzel
