New residential buildings are coming to East New York and Far Rockaway, both courtesy of Radson Development.
The company filed plans with the Department of Buildings on Friday for a mixed-use project at 2858 Linden Boulevard in Brooklyn with 235 units. The project would stand 12 stories tall and span just under 205,000 square feet, including 17,205 square feet of commercial space. It includes an affordable component and would rise on what is currently a vacant lot.
The city rezoned East New York last year, and several developers have recently filed plans for affordable housing developments in the neighborhood. B&B Urban is planning a 10-story building with 100 affordable units on Linwood Street, and Monadnock Development is planning a 21-building complex with 240 affordable units.
Radson, which did not respond to requests for comment, also filed plans with the city on Friday for a 166-unit residential building in Far Rockaway at 19-38 Cornaga Avenue. The building would be 10 stories tall and span 140,423 square feet, including 14,327 square feet of commercial space.
The City Council just passed a rezoning of Far Rockaway unanimously in September. The Marcal Group is planning a mixed-use waterfront development with 149 apartments in the neighborhood, and affordable housing developer MDG Design + Construction landed a 99-year, $109 million lease for a city-owned complex in Far Rockaway in January.
