Rapfogel was once among the highest-paid workers on the state payroll as Silver’s chief of staff, and receives an annual state pension of $115,889, the Daily News reported. She is the wife of William Rapfogel, who once headed the Metropolitan Council on Jewish Poverty before he was convicted in 2014 for stealing from the charity.

Her husband was granted a “merit release” in May after serving less than three years of his term in state prison.

City Councilman David Greenfield, chair of the land use committee, is leaving the council to take the job as head of the Met Council.
