Martin Scorsese is saying goodbye to the Director’s Guild of America building and pairing up with real estate investor and film producer Charles S. Cohen.
The famed director will move his production company Sikelia Productions out of the DGA building at 110 West 57th Street early next year and into Charles Cohen’s building at 750 Lexington Avenue, according to the New York Post.
Sikelia signed a 10-year lease for 7,500 square feet on the building’s 20th floor.
Scorsese has directed some of the country’s most revered films, including “Goodfellas,” “Taxi Driver” and “The Departed,” which finally won him an Oscar for best director in 2006. Cohen was an executive producer on the 2008 Oscar-nominated film “Frozen River.”
Scorsese’s “Departed” star Matt Damon went into contract earlier this fall for a condo in Brooklyn at 3 Pierrepont Place, whose asking price of $16.645 million would set a record for Brooklyn. [NYP] – Eddie Small
