Usually a brand new bathroom would be a selling point, but in this case, the old bathtub probably had to go.

That’s because officials believe an accused killer tried to dismember Joey Comunale in the last bathtub, the New York Post reported. James Rackover, surrogate son to “jeweler to the stars” Jeffrey Rackover, and Lawrence Dilione were charged in May with killing Comunale, who was repeatedly stabbed and beaten in a ritzy Upper East Side apartment last year.

Now, after a bathroom makeover, that one-bedroom apartment at 418 East 59th Street is being offered for $3,800 a month.

Apartment owner Chista Ghaffari told the Post that the renovation had nothing to do with the murder.

“I wanted to redo my apartment. It was my decision,” she said.

The owner is offering a month’s free rent for the apartment.

Rackover and Dilione are awaiting trial on second-degree murder and other related charges. Comunale’s body was found burned and buried in November 2016 in Oceanport, New Jersey. [NYP] — Kathryn Brenzel
