In May 2016, New York YIMBY reported that the Loketch Group and Joyland Group planned to build 25,565-square feet of office and warehouse space and a 7,900-square-foot event hall on the property. But according to documents filed with the city’s Department of Finance, Cook Equities took over a 99-ground lease from the Loketch Group in September of that year for $800,000.

Gandhi and representatives for Loketch didn’t immediately return calls seeking comment.

In July, Gandhi filed plans for a 66-key hotel in the Bronx. He’s filed plans for at least nine other hotels in the past two years, records show.
