The building from Alex Adjmi’s A&H Acquisitions and joint venture partners Meral Property Group and Joyland Group will stand six stories tall and include 38 residential units, according to filings with the Department of Buildings. The development at 2251 Nostrand Avenue will span just under 62,000 square feet, split between 30,008 square feet of residential space, 31,527 square feet of commercial space and 424 square feet of community facility space. The total lot — which includes three small residential homes on the corner of Nostrand and Avenue I — spans over 93,000 square feet.
The site was formerly a Hess gas station, and Joyland and Meral had filed plans in 2015 for a three-story commercial building at the site.
A&H’s portfolio includes 242 Bedford Avenue and 529 Broadway, and the company also purchased the controlling interest in a pair of Chelsea buildings at 116 Seventh Avenue and 204 West 17th Street in 2016 for $29 million.
Representatives from A&H declined to comment.
