Another top NYCHA official is going to resign over the lead paint scandal

The New York Housing Authority’s general manager Michael Kelly is expected to resign Monday, making him the third NYCHA official to lose their job over the lead paint scandal.

Vito Mustaciuolo, currently a deputy commissioner at the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, will take over as acting general manager, the New York Daily News reported.

In November, the city’s Department of Investigations published a report which found that for years NYCHA failed to inspect thousands of apartments for lead paint but falsely claimed that it had. Following the report, top NYCHA officials Brian Clark and Jay Krantz stepped down.
