Prolific Bronx developer Mark Stagg will bring yet another residential building to the borough.
The Stagg Group CEO is planning an eight-story, 50-unit residential building in Belmont at 2317 Cambreleng Avenue, according to plans filed Tuesday with the Department of Buildings. The building will span just over 42,000 square feet overall, split between 34,000 square feet of residential space and 7,700 square feet of community space on the first two floors.
The site is currently a vacant lot.
Stagg said the building would contain a mix of affordable units and market rate units, and he hopes to have a charter school use the community space. He estimated that the building would cost about $14 million and be finished in April 2019.
Stagg has a large portfolio of projects in the Bronx and filed plans last year for new buildings at 3469 Cannon Place in Kingsbridge and 186 St. Georges Crescent in Norwood. He is planning a controversial building at 5731 Broadway as well that was originally marketed as luxury housing but will now be a homeless shelter.
