The city is continuing to move forward with its plans to develop Sunnyside Yard in Queens.
The Economic Development Corporation announced on Wednesday that they had formed a steering committee with 26 members to lead development of a blueprint for the site, according to the New York Post.
Officials hope to establish a mix of housing, affordable housing, schools, parks and open spaces over the rail yard.
Architect Vishaan Chakrabarti will reportedly lead the development team working on a master plan for the 180-acre site, located between Long Island City and Sunnyside. Most decisions on this plan will not be released until after 2021. [NYP] – Eddie Small
