Ex-J. Crew CEO sells Tribeca loft for $19M

Mickey Drexler had been asking $35M at one point for Franklin St. condo

Former J. Crew CEO Mickey Drexler sold his full-floor Tribeca loft for $19 million.

Drexler, who stepped down a year ago as chief executive of the apparel company he had helmed for 14 years, originally listed his five-bedroom, 6,266-square-foot condominium at 140 Franklin Street in 2015 for $35 million.

The asking price later dropped to $25 million, and property records filed with the city Wednesday show the retail guru finally sold the apartment to an unidentified buyer for $19 million.

Drexler had purchased the home amid a bidding war in 2012 for $14.3 million.

Elsewhere, Drexler recently sold the Hamptons home he bought in 2008 for a $2 million loss. He bought the 2.3-acre Wainscott property in 2008 for $17 million, and listed it for sale in 2014 with an asking price of $26.5 million.

The home closed earlier this month for $15 million.

Drexler currently serves as the chairman for J. Crew, which just finalized a deal to relocate its corporate offices from Midtown South to Brookfield Place.
