The attorney who was caught on video threatening Spanish speaking restaurant workers has been kicked out of his Madison Avenue office space.
Aaron Schlossberg, 44, had used a business center at RPW Group’s 275 Madison Avenue as the address for his law firm, the New York Post reported. Corporate Suites, which operates the center, terminated Schlossberg’s service agreement.
“His actions are just not consistent with our community and rules and regulations … It’s totally contrary to everything we believe in as a company and personally,” Hayim Grant, president of Corporate Suites, told the Post.
The video shows Schlossberg threatening to call federal immigration officers on workers at the Fresh Kitchen. He rants that the workers should be “kicked out of my country” for speaking Spanish.
“Every person I listen to — he spoke [Spanish], he spoke it, she’s speaking it — it’s America!” he says in the video. “I pay for their welfare, I pay for their ability to be here — the least they can do is speak English.”
Congressman Adriano Espaillat and Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. have filed a complaint against Schlossberg, urging the New York State Unified Court System’s Departmental Disciplinary Committee to investigate the attorney and possibly revoke his license. Schlossberg specializes in insurance cases, but also handles commercial and residential real estate matters, according to his website.
