Oil heiress Helen LaKelly Hunt sells Riverside Drive mansion for 41% discount

An opulent Upper West Side mansion owned by oil heiress Helen LaKelly Hunt has sold for $11.6 million, almost half of the amount it was listed for.

Hunt, who is the daughter of Texas oil baron H. L. Hunt and is a philanthropist, sold her five-story home at 352 Riverside Drive to anonymous LLC, according to property records filed last month. The property was first listed in 2015 for $19.8 million.

Built between 1899 and 1901, the Beaux Arts limestone building includes a grand mahogany staircase lit up by a Tiffany-stained glass skylight, along with eight fireplaces and nine bedrooms. It was designed by architect Robert D. Kohn and is listed on the National Register of Historic PlacesThe building’s rooftop terrace overlooks Riverside Park and the Hudson River.

In 2016, comedian Amy Schumer visited the home, then priced at $15 million, as she sought to sell her own Upper West Side penthouse at 129 West 80th Street.

The Corcoran Group‘s Cathy Franklin, Alexis Bodenheimer and Marion Smith had the listing.
