The man suspected of being the “a—shole” who fired shots at Sheldon Solow’s One East River Place rental tower wrote about shooting somebody on his Facebook page last month.
Farris Koroma, who turned himself in to police Thursday night, posted on Facebook July 14, “This summer is trash. Im bout to shoot somebody,” the New York Post reported.
He also said on Facebook that he’s a member of the Crips gang.
Police claim the 22-year-old fired a gun from a spot nearby his home on Roosevelt Island in the early a.m. hours Saturday and hit apartment windows 1,400 feet across the Hudson River at Solow’s luxury rental tower at 525 East 72nd Street.
Authorities released surveillance video of the suspect Wednesday, and Koroma turned himself in at the 114th Precinct with his attorney.
Koroma’s neighbors on Roosevelt Island were shocked to hear the news. They said he recently attended college in upstate New York and that his mother works across the river at the United Nations.
“I am so, so disappointed. I don’t know what’s wrong, maybe he is trying to join a gang, I don’t know. But he’s a good kid,” one resident told the Post. [NYP] – Rich Bockmann
