President Trump doesn’t seem to be bothered by the fact that his longtime confidant was granted immunity.

Trump said Allen Weisselberg, the chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, didn’t betray him when he cooperated with an investigation into Michael Cohen.

“100 percent he didn’t,” Trump told Bloomberg on Thursday. “He’s a wonderful guy.”

The president also said that Weisselberg’s cooperation was for “a very limited period of time.”

Weisselberg had testified before a grand jury as part of a criminal investigation into payments Cohen made to hide negative information about Trump. Earlier this month, the president’s former attorney pleaded guilty to felony counts of fraud and campaign finance violations. Cohen also told a federal judge that the then-presidential candidate directed him to pay off former Playboy model Karen McDougal and adult-film star Stephanie Clifford. [Bloomberg]Kathryn Brenzel
