Danny Nassi — who was formerly one of the top agents on Ryan Serhant’s team — has joined Brown Harris Stevens.
Last year, Nassi left Serhant’s team but stayed at Nest Seekers International. His team, which has three other members, is now at BHS.
BHS co-president Bess Freedman met Nassi at a REBNY event about a year ago and they periodically kept in touch. Nassi said he hadn’t previously given serious consideration to switching firms, but was encouraged by a fellow broker to meet with BHS.
“I learned more about the company, and I was also getting more serious about my business and team,” Nassi said. “It was like a perfect storm for me.”
The hire comes as BHS is seeking to stretch beyond its reputation for high-end Upper East Side deals. The brokerage is aiming for a bigger presence in Brooklyn and Downtown Manhattan neighborhoods, Freedman said. The company is also working to expand in Park Slope.
Nassi, who currently has two sales listings worth a total of $3.5 million, added a “new energy” to the firm and “will be doing a little bit of everything,” she said. “We’re actively looking to expand our areas of expertise.”
