Wendy Maitland is starting her own brokerage business.
The broker launched a new residential and commercial real estate firm after being pushed out at Brown Harris Stevens in September. Maitland’s company will also offer high-end auctions through a partnership with Misha Haghani’s Paramount Realty USA, the New York Post reported.
“Like a Basquiat or a Picasso, or a piece of rare jewelry, some real estate simply deserves to be sold by auction,” Maitland told the Post.
In September, Maitland’s two-year tenure at BHS came to an end. She attempted to establish her own new development platform, also named Atelier WM, at the brokerage. She came to BHS in 2016 after an extended battle with her former firm Town Residential, where she was president of sales.
Maitland’s celebrity clients have included Madonna, Bruce Willis and Woody Allen. At the time of her departure from BHS, she said she would continue to collaborate with the brokerage on certain shared business, without sharing details. [NYP] — Meenal Vamburkar
