Manhattan saw a “healthy total” of luxury contracts inked last week: Olshan

Manhattan’s luxury residential market recorded 24 contracts last week at $4 million and up, according to Olshan Realty’s weekly market report.

Olshan called the activity a “healthy total in the midst of a much-publicized worrisome housing market.”

A sponsor unit at Extell Development’s One57 claimed the week’s top spot, with an asking price of $19.9 million. The four-bedroom unit 46C covers 3,466 square feet, bringing the asking price to slightly above $5,740 per square foot.

The 80th-floor home at the Billionaires’ Row tower just hit the rental market, asking a record-breaking $125,000 per month.

A resale unit at the Witkoff Group’s 150 Charles Street in the West Village claimed the week’s second-priciest contract. Unit 6BS had an asking price of $16.995 million, or roughly $4,900 per square foot.

The seller bought the condominium off of floor plans in February 2013 and closed three years later for $12.25 million.

The week’s asking-price contract volume totaled $179 million, with a median asking price of $5.74 million. Luxury homes spent an average of 783 days on the market, with an average discount of 8 percent from the original asking price to the final asking price. [Olshan Realty] – Rich Bockmann
