A tenant at the Eugene says she was sexually assaulted by a staffer at the high-end rental building, according to a new lawsuit.

The case, brought by plaintiff Anna Roast, claims that a “a doorman and/or porter” assaulted her within the building at 1 a.m. on October 17, 2017, according to Crain’s. Brookfield Asset Management, which owns the tower, is named as a defendant for failing to prevent the alleged attack.

“Defendants created and allowed a climate of physical abuse and failed to stop such activities, failed to prevent improper behavior from continuing, failed to stop the employee from engaging in physical abuse upon plaintiff,” the suit states.

Roast is seeking unspecified monetary damages. The lawsuit does not offer further details on the alleged attack or identify the attackers.

The 844-unit tower, part of Brookfield’s Manhattan West megacomplex, is the city’s tallest rental-only apartment building at 62 stories. Rents range from $3,300 to $10,000 a month. [Crain’s] — David Jeans
