Amazon’s pending move may be causing prices increases and a frenzy of buyer interest in Long Island City — but the borough’s priciest condominium just got price-chopped.
Penthouse 5 at the View, at 46-30 Center Boulevard, is now asking $3.65 million, the New York Post reported. It was listed for $4.25 million in 2017.
Stribling’s Sharon Walker Flynn has the listing.
The duplex spans 2,260 square feet and has three bedrooms. The condo includes a private terrace and windowed kitchen.
The price cut comes as the Amazon news has spiked interest in the neighborhood. Condo sales seemingly flipped from a buyers’ to a sellers’ market overnight. Some buyers have already accepted higher prices — and the listing discount, which averaged 3 percent this year through August, has disappeared, according to data compiled by Stribling.
Beyond its own campus, Amazon will take about 1 million square feet of space at Savanna’s One Court Square. The tech giant’s campus in the neighborhood is expected to drive up residential property values and attract more retail development to the area, ironic for a company often associated with killing the neighborhood retailer.
