For years, Stuart’s Seafood Market has been a must-stop shop for motorists on the Montauk Highway in Amagansett.
Now, the famed fish shop at 41 Oak Lane has been put on the market for $6.99 million by its owners Bruce and Charlotte Sasso, according to The New York Post. The shop, which opened in the 1950s, is situated on a roadside acre, that includes two homes and a parking lot. The first home is a 1,800-square-foot, double-story building and the second is a single-story home spanning 1,000 square feet with two bedrooms.
The shop is also a celebrity haunt. It was once reportedly the location of a photoshoot for a cookbook by Gwyneth Paltrow, and chef Alex Guarnaschelli is known to shop there.
The Hamptons has experienced a flurry of activity in the lead up to Christmas. Ralph Lauren recently went into contract on the $20 million former Montauk home of the late playwright Edward Albee. And another Montauk pad, known as a “Tinder party pad,” went into contract for $21 million. [NYP] — David Jeans
