Microsoft is bringing offices downtown with a large new lease in Soho.
The company signed a lease for about 70,000 square feet at 300 Lafayette Street, the New York Post reported. Another 8,500 square feet is still available at the building.
The building’s developers, Related companies and LargaVista Companies, sold the project to Nightingale Properties and Wafra Capital Partners in 2017 while it was under construction. The same buyers are also in contract for the Coca-Cola Building at 711 Fifth Avenue for $907 million.
The building is on a long-term ground lease on land owned by LargaVista. The project was marketed by Dustin Stolly of Newmark Knight Frank with Clark Finney of JLL. Finney also represented the buyers on the office lease with Microsoft, which was repped by JLL’s Lisa Kiell, the report said.
Last year, it was reported that Microsoft was eyeing the Soho building for a flagship store. The building, which is designed by COOKFOX Architects and Studio 5, includes 50,000 square feet of office space and 30,000 square feet of retail space. [NYP] — Meenal Vamburkar
