There were 20 contracts signed in Brooklyn’s luxury market last week worth about $79.6 million overall, marking the strongest week the borough has seen so far this year.
The properties were split between 13 townhouses and seven condos, and they went for an average price of about $4 million, according to the latest report from Stribling & Associates. The firm defines the borough’s luxury market as all homes priced at $2 million or higher.
Total sales and dollar volume were both up from the week before, when the market saw 15 contracts worth about $46.2 million overall.
The most expensive deal last week was for a townhouse at 16 Sidney Place in Brooklyn Heights, which went for $10.2 million. The six-bedroom property stands five stories tall and includes an elevator and a gas fireplace. It was the most expensive publicly recorded contract of the year for Brooklyn.
The second priciest deal was a townhouse at 15 Willow Street in Brooklyn Heights, which went for about $9 million. The six-bedroom home spans 6,200 square feet and includes an elevator, three fireplaces and a wine cellar. It went into contract at 10 percent below its initial listing price.
Other deals last week included a townhouse at 30 Garden Place in Brooklyn Heights that went for about $7 million and a condo at 550 Vanderbilt Avenue in Prospect Heights that went for $3.45 million. — Eddie Small
