Investment bank takes two full floors at Rockefeller’s 1271 Sixth Ave

Greenhill & Co. signs 78,000-square-foot office lease

Rockefeller Group, which undertook at $325 million renovation of the former Time & Life Building, has signed on a tenant to take the last two full floors of the Midtown tower.

Approaching the completion of upgrades on 1271 Sixth Avenue, Greenhill & Co. signed a lease for 78,000 square feet on the 48-story building’s 20th and 21st floors, Crain’s reported. The investment banking firm will relocate from Tishman Speyer’s 300 Park Avenue.

The deal follows a string of leases at the 2 million-square-foot office building over the past year, including NYC Office Suites, Philadelphia-based law firm Blank Rome, and Mizuho Americas, the U.S. arm of the Japanese investment banking giant. Major League Baseball had taken 300,000 square feet.

CBRE’s Michael Geoghegan, Andrew Sussman and Peter Gamber represented Greenhill in the deal, while a CBRE team led by Mary Ann Tighe, Howard Fiddle and John Maher and Rockefeller’s Ed Guiltinan and Jennifer Stein represented the landlord.
