The Related Companies is planning a 149-unit residential building in Far Rockaway.
Jamar Adams, a former professional football player who now works at Related, pre-filed an application with the Department of Buildings on Monday for the project. It will be located at 14-06 Gateway Boulevard and span 133,000 square feet, split between 125,000 square feet of residential space and nearly 8,500 square feet of commercial space.
The project will stand nine stories and 88 feet tall.
A representative from Related did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
The City Council voted to rezone Far Rockaway in 2017 in an effort to bring more than 3,000 residential units to the neighborhood. Other projects in the area include a 60-unit mixed-use development at 128 Beach 9th Street from Red Group Management and a 219-unit mixed-use development at 13-38 Central Avenue from Brisa Builders Corporation.
